Image-Based Site Communication – The RATP Case Study

In the public and private sectors alike, site communication has become a strategic issue. Informing local residents, reassuring elected officials, coordinating various technical departments… these are just some of the challenges project owners face. With Devisubox, RATP has implemented an innovative project communication strategy based on real-time site images and video content designed for both the general public and professionals. A Multi-Faceted Approach to Project Communication For the extension of the T3b tram line in Paris, the RATP teams, in partnership with the City of Paris, integrated a comprehensive site communication plan. This complex project involved both surface and underground work, requiring close coordination between RATP’s technical services, municipal teams, and contracting companies. To streamline communication, the Devisubox monitoring interface was used as a central site communication tool. The coordinator from the City of Paris, for example, logged in regularly to monitor the progress of the underground work and plan surface-level interventions. This is one of the key benefits of site images: they create a common language among all stakeholders. A Stronger Relationship with Local Residents Another fundamental aspect of site communication is the connection with residents. To achieve this, RATP regularly published content on its Facebook page, including Reels (short vertical videos) produced by the Devisubox studio. These engaging formats help to simplify the project’s stages, show the actual progress of the work, and maintain a climate of transparency and trust. This narrative and visual approach is a game-changer: it transforms a site, often perceived as a nuisance, into a collective project supported by tangible images. Tools to Showcase Every Stage Beyond daily monitoring, the teams used Devisubox’s Before/After feature, which is particularly useful in an urban setting. With a simple slider, it’s possible to compare two photos taken from the same spot several months apart and instantly visualize the project’s evolution. This is a valuable tool for communicating with local authorities and for clearly illustrating the project’s benefits to the general public. A Video to Launch… and to Capitalize On Finally, at the end of the project, a communication video was produced by Devisubox, compiling the best images captured throughout the duration of the work. This video was presented during the official inauguration of the T3b tram extension, attended by local elected officials and all stakeholders. This deliverable marks the culmination of the project, but it is also a long-lasting asset: it can be reused in other public meetings, on social media, or in end-of-project reports. A New Way of Thinking About Site Communication The RATP case study demonstrates how site communication today goes far beyond simple regulatory signage. It is a strategic lever for managing a project, uniting its stakeholders, engaging with citizens, and showcasing results. Thanks to Devisubox’s visual tools—real-time photos, videos, Before/After comparisons—teams have tangible, effective, and engaging assets for every stage of the project.

Securing Site Access: How Devisubox’s AI Detects Risks and Improves Prevention

At Devisubox, artificial intelligence is a practical tool for improving safety and efficiency on construction sites. Thanks to our SupervisionAI solution, we can detect a wide variety of objects, situations, and behaviors—and most importantly, intelligently interpret them based on logical scenarios defined with our clients. This was the case for a project in Canada, located alongside a busy highway (a 6-lane road with a central median). Truck access was at a right angle, making every entry potentially hazardous for on-site personnel. Verifying Access Rules with AI To make these maneuvers safer, strict rules were established: every truck arrival had to be guided by a flagger, equipped with the necessary PPE, responsible for securing the vehicle’s entry. Adherence to this procedure is essential. Here, SupervisionAI acts as a true safety prevention assistant for construction sites. By automatically detecting vehicles (by type), people, and the use of protective equipment (vests, helmets, etc.), our system can identify at-risk situations in real time. In practical terms, we program the AI with simple and effective rules: – If a truck is detected without a person present, an alert is sent. – If a truck is accompanied by a person who is not wearing a reflective vest, a notification is also triggered. These images, automatically filtered by our autonomous camera, are then sent to the safety manager. They serve as tangible support for leading safety briefings and raising team awareness about best practices. A Tool for Site Safety Prevention, but Also for Performance Optimization As with all images captured by Devisubox, faces are automatically blurred to guarantee the anonymity of employees and to comply with current regulations. Beyond accident prevention, this visual data also allowed the site manager to optimize the site’s organization. By analyzing the images, he noticed that the heaviest trucks were blocking traffic during their maneuvers. He therefore implemented new rules: tonnage restrictions at certain hours and scheduling deliveries outside of peak traffic times. This case study perfectly illustrates the added value of artificial intelligence applied to site monitoring: better prevention, increased responsiveness, and more informed decisions. In other words, a safer, better-organized… and more efficient site.
